Tomi Ungerer, born Jean-Thomas Ungerer on November 28, 1931 in Strasbourg and died on February 9, 2019 in Cork, Ireland, is a French painter, draftsman, illustrator and author.

Considered one of the most brilliant designers of his generation, since 1957 he has had an international career in many areas of graphic art. His children’s books Les Trois Brigands and Jean de la Lune have toured the world, his poster against Black Power/White Power racial segregation has become an icon.
